We are excited to announce that Girls on the Run from Harper Creek Schools has chosen our foundation for their community outreach project!
Girls on the Run is a program that teaches girls in third through fifth grade about self-confidence, being a good friend, and what it means to be empowered, along with running and accomplishing a 5K. Each year they pick a community service project to participate with and this year it’s the There’s That Smile Foundation.
Harper Creek Middle School, Wattles Park Elementary, and Sonoma Elementary are all going to be collection sites for monetary donations as well as bundles. Our bundles are from the Kohl’s Cares line at Kohl’s Department Stores and consist of a book with matching stuffed animal.
We supply local police officers with these bundles so that they may give them to children who are upset or distressed on a police-involved call. It’s a way for us a to distract and ease their pain from a traumatic experience. We will be taking donations from now until May 7th.
Additionally, the girls wanted to do a t-shirt fundraiser, so we designed a a new t-shirt just for them. These pink and white t-shirts will be $10 each and all proceeds will go to There’s That Smile.
You may pre-order your shirt below via PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal but would like to order a shirt, send us a quick message. We can also make arrangements to accept cash or check.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. The girls are working hard to get the word out with posters, flyers, and announcements at school. Not only will you be supporting us, but you will also be showing the girls what it’s like to support and come together as a community!
